CLUB WELFARE OFFICER
Meet our Club Welfare Officer
My name is Carol Barrett, I am the Club Welfare Officer (CWO) for Buckden FC.
Every grassroots football club is required to have a Club Welfare Officer, and I am responsible for helping to ensure the safety, wellbeing, and welfare of all children, young people, and vulnerable adults who attend the club or take part in its activities.
I have been appointed by the Club to this voluntary role to support and promote a safe, positive, and inclusive environment for everyone involved in Buckden FC, ensuring that safeguarding and welfare remain a key priority across all club activities.
Key Responsibilities

Safeguarding Policy
Help create a safe, positive and inclusive environment for everyone.

Manage Concerns
Respond to and report safeguarding or welfare issues appropriately.

First Point of Contact
Support players, parents, coaches and volunteers with welfare concerns.

Best Practice
Encourage safeguarding awareness and good conduct across the club.

Support Safe Reruitment
Help ensure volunteers and coaches meet safeguarding requirements.

Put Welfare First
Ensure the wellbeing of children, young people and vulnerable adults remains a priority.
